Versatile Bouvier Award
The Versatile Bouvier Award was designed by the ABdFC to help maintain breed characteristics. These titles are not restricted to heritage activity, as today’s Bouviers do very little droving of cattle down farm roads. Therefore, these titles also represent what dogs can do in modern times to demonstrate their agile, spirited and bold nature, as well as its well behaveddisposition. This award program is open ABdFC members in good standing.

CHIC DNA Repository Blood Draw
Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Lancaster Host Resort & Conference Center – Cornwall Room
BHF will again underwrite the submission cost for blood draws in association with the OFA/CHIC DNA Repository to support current & future genetic research. We encourage you to have blood drawn on ALL your dogs (both show & companion) and especially those with certain genetic conditions. These affected dogs are especially important to genetic researchers and CHIC waives the submission fee for this important DNA. It is the samples from affected dogs that can be compared to the genetic sequencing of a clear dog, and the outcome helping to uncover mutational differences.
To speed the check-in process, we ask that you complete the OFA/CHIC Repository application/questionnaire: http://caninehealthinfo.org/chic_dnabankapp_main.pdf prior to arriving at the blood collection.
In addition to the CHIC blood draw, veterinary technicians will be available to conduct cheek swabs in association with the AKC’s DNA Profile – but remember; has nothing in common with the DNA information compiled from the blood draw. The cost for this procedure is $40.00 (paid with your Specialty Registration form); a savings of $5.00 from regular AKC fees - BHF will submit & cover postage.
