September 24

We have finalized our vendors for the National. Lots of great Bouvier items and potential holiday gifts for your Bouv friends.

The Back Yard with ABdFC member, Marilyn Howard will be joining us. Marilyn says "We will be bringing our exclusive cement Bouvier statue, weighing in at 105lbs. There will be a few extra for sale at the Specialty. In addition I have a few new surprise items that will available. Come look at our display to visit, reacquaint, speak of past Specialties, and just to say 'HI'. Included with our many Bouvier items will be the Radko Bouvier Ornament for sale proceeds to BHF, coffers for research studies.”

Another ABdFC member, Nancy Villwock of Nancy Villwock Photography, will be joining us with her beautiful Bouvier photography. Nancy will also be taking candid photos at the show. Be sure to introduce yourself if you have not met Nancy.

Christine Mickolick, of Mickolick Artwork, will be there with a number of original Bouvier items.   Chris has provided some of the items for the auction including the beautiful Bouvier mailbox.  Check out her work on her Facebook page

Many Bouvier owners may remember Walker Works who was at our 2012 Specialty in Ohio. They have beautiful pewter and copper etchings of dogs. Lots of choices – large and small. Check them out on their Facebook page

It's Raining Cats and Dogs will also be joining us with dog oriented jewelry. Lots of choices to preview on their website.

Ronnie Yaskin from Shiatsu Bodywork for People and Animals will also be there. Ronnie provides massages for people and animals, wellness products and is also an animal communicator. Have you ever wanted to know exactly what your dog is thinking? Ronnie can help you find out.

Ocean State Embroidery, who is providing our Ways and Means clothing items, will also be joining us. Did you forget to order something you really wanted or did something new catch your eye as a great gift item? They will be there to help you fill your order.

Planning activities for the 2016 National Specialty are heating up in the past week. September is here and we have less than six weeks to go.

We are so fortunate to have a donation of a booster bath from Jonathan Lytle, Sharp Shop Guy, 1417 McPherson Blvd., Fremont, OH 43420 United States (419) 603-9657, It will be available after the National for purchase so if you are looking for a booster bath this is the place to find one and avoid shipping charges. Jonathan will not be at the National so his generosity is even more appreciated.

Nancy Eilks will be repeating her very popular grab bags. The time of the grab bag sale will be posted - don't miss out! Nancy will also have 2017 calendars, decks of Bouvier cards and the grooming DVD available at her table. She will also be running a silent auction of trophies from past years. Was there a piece of pottery or glass that particularly appealed to you? Now is your chance to bid and win. BHF and ABRL will also have items for sale or silent auction.

Once I have all the information on our vendors I will be providing additional information on all of them and their offerings.

And Frank Dreyfus, our grounds chair, is collecting supplies to make sure the grounds remain clean and poop-free. Don't forget our "Poop Contest" where show committee members will be watching to catch you picking up and reward you with a ticket for a beautiful stool (or small table) with the ABdFC logo. We have also arranged for some additional surprises to be included. The more you get caught cleaning up, the more tickets you will have and the greater chance to win!

Keep watching for more information as we begin the 6 week countdown.

August 4

I am getting a lot of questions about which airport is better to fly into for the National.  I am more familiar with the Philadelphia Airport so that would be my choice.   It is a little closer to the site.  I ran some directions and, personally, these are the ones I would use because they don’t take you through Philadelphia.  But, just a heads up, you want to try and get a flight that lands before 3 p.m.  No matter what route you choose you don’t really want to be on the roads around Philadelphia between 4 and 7 p.m.   Just a suggestion.

July 29

Eleven weeks to go to the National and lots of plans are underway.  I hope to post something weekly to keep you updated.

We have gotten permission from the hotel to allow our members to set up ex-pens and exercise your dogs in the courtyard.   They are also going to place as many of us with dogs in the first floor rooms.   This is a special privilege for our Club so we will have this area in addition to the designated areas.

We want to make sure we do not abuse this privilege so perhaps future clubs can have the ability to do this as well.

stoolThat being said, to encourage our members to pick up after their dogs we will be running a "poop contest". Members of the show committee will all have raffle tickets and will give you a ticket when they “catch” you cleaning up after your dog.

All you have to do is write your name and cell phone number on the ticket and deposit it in a box we will have on the show table. Thursday we will draw a winner. The more you clean up, the greater your chance to win.

We have gotten a very nice prize from our trophy vendor. He has taken a stool and, using his etching skills, etched the ABdFC logo on the top of the stool.

We are providing clean up bags in your welcome bags, as well as mini flashlights for night clean ups and mini Purell hand sanitizer for your coat pocket. Let's all work together to keep the grounds nice and clean.
