CHIC DNA Repository Blood Draws
CHIC DNA Repository Blood Draws will be conducted on Tuesday and Thursday. Improving the health of our breed is the responsibility of every concerned Bouvier owner. You can help by submitting your dog’s DNA. The Bouvier Health Foundation is completely underwriting the cost of this important activity. All that is necessary is a few minutes of your time to complete one form, and have a very small sample of your Bouvier’s blood submitted. Blood will be drawn by licensed veterinary techs. More information about the CHIC DNA Repository is available at www.caninehealthinfo.org. Please participate in this valuable program for the good of our breed.
More information will be posted at the show site. We will be set up as close to the ring as possible. For more information call 417-794-0701 or email June Guido at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For the forms that need to be filled out www.caninehealthinfo.org/chic_dnabankapp_main.pdf

EMBRACING OUR FUTURE - HONORING OUR PAST
This is an important anniversary year for the ABdFC and we would like to celebrate the past while looking to the future.
This year our sponsors have the option of dedicating their table to the memory of a dog that has passed over to the Rainbow Bridge. The dog can be one of your own, or one that holds a special place in your heart. Please send us the name of the dog and a picture if you wish along with payment for your table reservation. The dog’s name and/or picture will be displayed on the table center placard along with your last name.
This year’s Top Twenty is dedicated to the ones who came before and left their paw prints on your heart.
Semi-formal or evening attire is required for all attendees - Judges, Handlers, and Spectators.
For more information for Top Twenty Participants see General Information for Top Twenty Finalists and Participants.
Tour Beautiful Southfork Ranch
For thirteen years, television sets were tuned into 356 episodes of "Dallas", one of the longest running TV series in history. Viewers made themselves home at Southfork, the ranch the Ewings called home and where the world was a weekly guest. Now you can visit this famous Texas ranch in person and see for yourself the lifestyle portrayed in the series.
Today, Southfork continues to welcome visitors from around the world, who come to see where "Dallas" was filmed and to experience the lifestyle made famous by the Ewings.
Whether you are an individual traveler or part of a group tour, Southfork is open daily, year 'round for guided tours of the ranch. Tour the famed Ewing Mansion and re-live exciting moments from the series in the "Dallas Legends" exhibit, featuring an exciting array of memorabilia from the series.
See the gun that shot J.R., Lucy's Wedding Dress, the "Dallas" Family Tree, and Jock's Lincoln Continental. Relax on a guided tour of the ranch grounds. Eat at Miss Ellie's Deli and shop in two themed retail stores, offering a diverse selection of clothing, accessories, gifts, and collectibles.
As you depart the Mansion, feel free to stroll through the ranch grounds, and stop and visit "Lincoln's and Longhorns" displaying Jock Ewing's original 1978 Lincoln Continental. Guests can shop here for "Dallas"-inspired men's and ladies apparel, decor, and accessories.
You'll also want to stop by the "Ranch RoundUp" shop in the Visitors Center, featuring a wide selection of Southfork gift items and Texas collectibles.
Tour Schedules ~
Tours depart the Visitors Center approximately every 30-45 minutes, and run continuously throughout the day. We are open daily, year 'round, with the exception of Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day.
Operating Hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm
Tour Schedule: The last guided tour of the day begins at 4:30 pm every day.
ABdFC Members will receive a special discounted rate for the ranch and mansion tour! ABdFC Members may tour for $9.00, a discount of $4.50.
Since the Chair Raffle was so successful last year with so many positive comments about the beautiful artwork on each chair, we are repeating it again this year.
Tickets can be purchased anytime now or at the National. If you win and are not at the National I can either ship the chair or send it home with a friend for you.
The colors are slightly different this year. The herding chair will be green again. The other two will be blue and red but I don't know which is which yet.
There will be three different designs again - herding and carting, agility and puppies.
Once you purchase, I will send you the numbers of your tickets!!!
Not everyone participates in conformation, not all participate in performance events…but everyone who loves the breed can be part of the photo contest at the National once again this year. There are 12 categories plus one People’s Choice Award. All photos will be displayed in the lobby of the show site during the National. The 12 winners will receive a beautiful streamer rosette custom made for the category and their photo will appear in an ABdFC calendar for 2015.
Look for the 2014 calendar on sale at the Specialty.
This year we will add a new category, especially for children or grandchildren under the age of 12. The winning photo taken by a child will receive a special rosette and recognition at the awards banquet. So, turn those kids loose with a camera, and let’s start getting our youngest generation of Bouvier lovers involved with the specialty fun!
The entry fee is $5 for each category; make the check payable to ABdFC and note “Photo Contest” at the bottom. The size of the photo is up to the entrant; the calendar will be in an 8 X 10 format so take that into consideration. Entrants who want their photos returned may pick them up the Friday of national week or include a stamped, self-addressed return package. Entrants agree that winning photographs will appear in the ABdFC calendar. Each entry must have a card attached listing the category, photographer’s name, address, phone number, e-mail address, the name and age of the dog at the time the photo was taken, and anything you want to say about the dog or the photo. The cards will be revealed after the judging. The People’s Choice winner will be chosen by ballot.
Entry Deadline: Friday, October 11, 2013. $5 entry per category, check payable to ABdFC
Entries may be brought with you or mailed to:
