Judge's Biography PDF  | Print |

To the Members of the American Bouvier Des Flanders Club of America

I am Jan Paulk, of Santa Fe, NM, and I judge 6 AKC groups, BIS and Juniors. I became hooked on conformation competition after my first show dog, a German Shepherd, went Best in Match in 1971. I attended Bouvier National Specialties in Colorado Springs and in Albuquerque. In 2010 I judged the Columbia Bouvier Club Specialty which was held after that year's National Specialty in Portland. While studying the Herding Group, I served as time keeper twice for New Mexico AKC Herding Trials.

It is my practice when judging Specialties, to do so for expenses and a donation to the Rescue Organization of that breed. If selected for this honor, my fee will be a donation to Bouvier Rescue.

In my previous life, I served for 27 years as a staff member of the US Senate, Washington, DC. After retiring to Santa Fe, I served for 5 years as Executive Director of the Governor's Council on Film and Media Industries in New Mexico. I have pursued my judging career with the same preparation and dedication I brought to my positions in government.

Thank you for your consideration.
